How to find the perfect Curtains for your Windows

There is one element of home decor that you just can’t ignore – window curtains. They are one of those essential pieces of decor that can set the tone of a room. From light and fresh to bold and decorative, from solid colours to prints, from sheer to heavy opaque fabrics, the possibilities are endless. With a wide variety of options, fabrics and accessories, choosing the right one can be quite confusing. Here are some quick tips on how to choose curtains that might help you:

Know the Difference Between Curtains, Drapes, Shades and Blinds

The first step in choosing window curtains is to find out what your room requires. Often homeowners choose curtains, drapes, shades and blinds without knowing the difference. Doing so can result in these window treatments interfering with the amount of sunlight your room should receive.
It is therefore important to know the difference between these two home accessories. Curtains are fabric panels made of lightweight materials and hang on curtain rods. They are mostly used for privacy purposes, so they are ideal for living rooms. Curtains, on the other hand, are made of thicker materials that are made to block sunlight, making them ideal for bedrooms.

The Curtain Colour can change the look of your home

Curtain designs for the home should complement the furnishings in the room! The colour of your window and door curtain designs should ideally be in harmony with the rest of the furniture. You can choose window curtains that match or contrast with the decor. For a pleasant look, choose curtains in a colour that complements the shade of your walls. Alternatively, if you want them to focus on the design of the curtains, choose a shade that contrasts with the furniture and walls or add a splash of colour.

Pick the Right Materials

The material plays a vital role in the selection of window curtains and affects the appearance of the room. From sheer lace to light cotton, medium weight brocade to heavy velvet, your window curtain design options are plentiful. Two factors you should consider when choosing your fabric are:
• The amount of sunlight you want to flow into
• The mood and decoration of your room. For example, heavier fabrics suit more traditional rooms, while sheer fabrics work best in minimalist rooms
Each fabric falls from a different height and will therefore look different when folded and pulled. This is important to keep in mind when choosing a curtain design for the home.

Choose fabrics based on the maintenance required

The fabric and material of the curtain determine how it should be cleaned and how often you need to clean it, for example, curtains with stitched pleats and pleats must be dry cleaned. While all curtains and drapes should be washed every three to six months, some fabrics require more care and some are machine washable.
Low-maintenance fabrics: If you’re looking for curtains that need to be washed twice a year, opt for cotton or synthetic fabrics. They are machine washable if they are unlined, or give your lined curtains a quick hand wash. A great choice for those with dust allergies or children and pets at home
High-maintenance fabrics: Any curtain that has creases or pilling must be dry-cleaned, regardless of the fabric. However, wool, silk and sheer curtains must be dry cleaned or hand washed in cold water to maintain their colour and shape.

More of our Favourite Window Scenes in Film and TV: Part 2

But now, we want to take another deep dive into more of our iconic window scenes!

The Death Star window in Star Wars

EXT. BOTTOM OF CLOUD CITY – WEATHER VANE – DUSK

Unable to hang onto the pipe, Luke tumbles out, emerging at the

undermost part of Cloud City. Reaching out desperately, he manages to

grab onto on electronic weather vane.

LUKE

Ben… Ben, please!

Luke tries to pull himself up on the weather vane but slips back down.

He hooks one of his legs around the fragile instruments. All the

while, a powerful current of air rushes out at him from the exhaust

pipe.

LUKE

Ben. Leia!

There is an ominous cracking sound from the base of the

weather vane and a piece breaks off, falling into the clouds far below.

Cloud city’s primary purpose is to collect and refine tibana gas from the atmosphere of Bespin. This gas has a variety of uses, most notably being munitions. The stuff is basically blaster ammo.

But there really isn’t all that much of the stuff at the altitude where humans can easily survive, so it has to cycle huge amounts of atmospheric gasses through its central core to separate out the tibana gas.

That shaft that they were fighting in is where that air was cycled. Which means that there were periodically very strong updrafts running through it, and a variety of vents and filters intended to pull out the relevant gassed from the atmosphere.

That’s what Luke fell into: first a massive air cushion to slow his fall, and then a giant vacuum intended to pull out the heavier gasses.

The Train Windows in Joker

Being fearless and stunning in emotional depth makes him king of crime. Shinning performance by Joaquin Phoenix – Arthur Fleck is a lonely liver who smiles as a clown for a living and follows his dream of becoming a stand-up comedian. No one listens to his voice and he is getting lonelier with each passing day.

This movie serves as the origin story for the Joker character, who, as you know, goes on to terrorize Gotham and make serious trouble for Batman. Arthur is an aspiring comedian who suffers from an ambiguous mental illness that he tries to get treatment for. Arthur faces a turning point and goes on a violent streak, the windows he is shown through during the train scenes just show his loneliness in an unloving city.

Christopher Nolan’s Inception begins with a dream-within-a-dream—Saito’s dream within Nash’s dream, to be precise—and the film’s every frame asks the viewer to question whether the events unfolding on-screen are taking place in the external world or in a dreaming person’s mind.

Mal’s Totem was a spinning top that now belongs to her husband. While experimenting with dream-sharing with Dom, they became trapped in Limbo. Faced with limitless possibilities on how to build their own world and becoming obsessed with the power of Limbo, Mal gradually began to believe that Limbo was her reality.

Glass Fabrication and Finishing: Understanding the Glass Making Process

While there are variations in the process of creating different types of glass, the following presents a basic process used to create the most common types of glass, such as soda-lime.

Glass Fabrication

Ingredients that make glass vary depending on the type of glass. The main part of the glass, called the front, must be heated to a very high temperature in order to be viscous. The most common of these is silicon dioxide, which is found in sand. The former is mixed with flux, which helps it to melt at lower temperatures. Common ingredients are soda ash and potash. A stabilizer is also used to keep glass from melting or to create unwanted crystal pollution. The most common stabilizer is calcium oxide, derived from limestone. These dry ingredients are mixed together into a mass. The furnace melts the mass to form a liquid mixture. The Cullet, made of broken glass, was added to the batch to help it melt.

When stained glass is made, metallic oxide is added to the batch. The colors of the iron are green, the copper is light blue, the cobalt is dark blue, and the gold is deep red. Low stainless steel glass is recommended if you dye glass any color other than green. In small quantities, manganese dioxide is used to make glass, but in large quantities, it adds a purple color to the glass, or in a higher, darker amount.

After melting, the viscous glass is poured into a melted tin bath, then molded into a ribbon and cooled. The slow and cool process is called annealing. The glass should be cooled evenly, because if one area stays too long it becomes too thick, and different concentrations result in pressure on the piece of glass. An improperly inserted piece of glass may break.

Cutting

Next, the glass with the anneal is cut to the required size. This is usually done with computer numerical control machines, or CNC machines, which can perform very precise tasks. CNC machines work according to specific CAM and CAD software programs, which allow them to print any number of tools with the same accuracy. They can also perform many mechanical tasks that are usually performed by special machines: they can cut curves and straight lines, drill holes, and dig ditches. The CNC machinery used to make glass uses a variety of tools, including abrasive diamond tools, diamond points, and carbide wheels, to achieve better precision and performance of glass.

After cutting and polishing glass, manufacturers often perform glass polishing, laminating, and other finishing services. Polished mirrors and lenses make up an important part of the glassmaking market. These items often require extreme precision, and local tolerance must be precise for the components to function as intended. These precise parts are used in telescopes, prisms, laser lenses and mirrors, and other visual aids, all of which are prone to imperfections and inaccuracies.

Tempering

Tempering is a heat treatment that strengthens the glass to four times the strength of the non-stick glass. When solid glass breaks, it breaks into smaller, round pieces instead of twisted charts.

The moisturizing process begins with a cut and washed glass that goes through a hot oven, either in bulk or in continuous feed. The glass is heated to above 600o Celsius before passing through the extinguishing, cooling process. During extinguishing, high-pressure air blows through glass pipes in many different places. The outside of the glass cools much faster than the center, leading to the center of the glass trying to recede from the outside. The result is that the center remains tense, and the exterior goes under pressure, giving the cool glass its power.

Glass can also be reduced by chemicals. The glass is immersed in a bath of dissolved potassium salt which causes the sodium ions in the glass to be converted into larger potassion ions. Large potassium ions fill the gaps left by sodium ions, creating a pressure environment on the outer surface of the glass. This method is more expensive than using a hot oven, so it is less commonly used.

The disadvantage of cooled glass is that it cannot be recycled once it is in use, so it must be completely molded before the procedure. Also, due to the limited pressure of the cooling glass, if any part of it is damaged the entire piece of glass is almost cracked.

Sturdy glass is a type of safety glass, used for car windows, entry doors, and other applications where the glass cracking or breaking could put people at risk.

Laminating is another way to create safety glass. Laminating involves reinforcing glass with an interlayer for plastic materials. The interlayer not only tightens the glass but also holds the glass pieces together when they are broken, preventing them from cracking.

There are a few laminating procedures. Two or more pieces of glass are bonded, using heat and pressure, between one or more adhesive layers, usually polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA). Another method is to bind two or more pieces of glass with an aliphatic urethane or EVA interlayer, using heat and pressure. Glass can also be covered with cured glue or EVA.

Laminated glass is difficult to cut because of its plastic parts, but it is not possible. When stained glass is damaged, it often cracks the web spider’s web rather than cracks it into more dangerous pieces.

Coolest Block in Stuart with a Side of Florida History

Stuart is a really hard place to know for a day, but one day in this Florida Treasure Coast town there is plenty of time to start. That may sound like a huge overflow of tourism, but you will understand as we begin to roll back the layers of one of Florida’s most diverse river cities.

So what is there to do in Stuart?

The average visitor will find enough to fill the afternoon, especially on SW Osceola Street in the historic town of Stuart, pop. 16,000. The river St. Lucie is just a short distance away and fills the city like a horseshoe. The Intracoastal Waterway simply jumps east and the Atlantic Ocean slightly overlooks the other side of the barrier islands. Water, it can be said, is a way of life here. Local people and tourists can fish, sail and sail the contents of their hearts.

Undoubtedly, SW Osceola Street is Stuart’s coolest (and most beautiful) neighborhood. Twelve shops, restaurants, snack slums and a theater of the past line the street.

There’s a lot next to the block, too, on SW Flagler Avenue. Gumbo Limbo Gifts pays for itself as coastal chic and sailing the store features state-of-the-art home accessories, which include luxury pillows, fine linen and paper products and plenty of cleverly designed cheese plates, dips and other hors d’oeuvres. Monkee’s of Stuart has nothing to do with the 1960s pop group and everything related to stylish clothing, shoes and accessories.

The Stuart History

Not entirely appealing to Osceola. The Dirty Hippie, which has a door on SW Seminole Street, also has all the dye ties and vinyl. Enjoy stogie at Smokin Premiums and buy a few to take home with you. There are several places to hang ice cream or frozen yoghurt, including Signature Sweets.

The street names Osceola, Seminole and Flagler memorize the history of Florida, two named after Indian tribes and one for an American industrialist and a railway official who helped open Florida for tourists and newcomers.

If you want to experience more than just buying and eating at Stuart, start your day at the Stuart Heritage Museum, where city history is told inside the 1901 building with several businesses including a typical store, Mrs. Peter’s Smoked Fish House and food. supply store. You will learn here that Stuart prides himself as the Sailfish Capital of the Year. Impressive dance fish run in large numbers along the Treasure Coast in winter to attract sportsmen from all over the world.

What to eat!

The plate “Dirty Oyster,” a delicacy prepared with sour cream and red and black caviar, is served at Rirwalk Cafe and Oyster Bar in Stuart.

We cross an old part of town where historic homes are well cared for. We drive back to downtown, stop briefly at Harney Circle to watch the Abundance, a bronze statue that arrived in Stuart at the 1939 World’s Fair, and then the driver drops us off at Rirwalk Café and Oyster Bar. We’ll go shopping and buy, but it starts eating. Not much of the view from the 1922 brick building, but oh, the food. Chef / owner Steve Feder eats delicious food, including Dirty Oyster stuffed with sour cream and caviar. Seafood is not all local but lovingly prepared and if you visit when corn cornder is on the menu, get it.

In the corner, Gafford gets top marks for its Central American dinner menu, which includes seafood, beef, lamb and locally sourced chicken. Vegetarian eaters are welcome, too, and will likely be drawn to roasted Parmesan cauliflower mixed with orange and fennel salad.

Time for your right visit and dine at Gafford, see a show at the Lyric Theater featuring comedians Paula Poundstone and Robert Klein and singer Branford Marsalis, and have a cup of coffee or a cocktail in one of the many city venues later.

After our oyster and chowder on the Riverwalk, we start our walk through SW Osceola Street, and discover a lot in Stuart. Most of them can be found on foot.

Most property owners have a misconception that they will save money on cleaning their own space rather than hiring a professional to do so. However, the fact of the matter is, cleansing yourself is not just about wasting a lot of your time, but it is also not going to do a good job the way an expert would. This is because most homeowners who decide to clean up after themselves quickly pick up trash, and they probably clean up after themselves. Professional cleaners, instead, make sure to do thorough cleaning. They enter areas where you do not know they need to be cleaned, and you leave your home sparkling.

If you decide to work with professional cleaners, you can be sure that they will clean every inch of your house, including bedrooms, kitchens, toilets, and other areas. In addition to this, they work hard to enhance the look of your home by washing windows, caulking, and completing repairs. Therefore, it is always best to let professionals do what they know best.

It can be a real problem to clean up your property after the construction project is completed. Most of the time, it may be difficult for you to decide where to start, remembering all the dust and chaos. If you are in this situation, you might consider using our tips. Also, wet weather will prevent the cleaned windows from drying out naturally and may also contaminate them.

Once you have selected a date, gather all the necessary tools, go outside, play background music or listen to the radio to make it fun and start the cleaning process.

Clean the area around the windows at a distance with a vacuum cleaner and on high windows use a long-handled broom. You need to remove any cobwebs and debris before washing windows with a solution.

Put in a bucket full of warm water 500 ml white vinegar and 250 ml washing liquid. Put a strip washer in a bucket to soak for 1-2 minutes.

Attach the strip washer to the extension pole and apply the cleaning solution throughout the window as well. Scrub well everywhere and try to reach all areas and corners to break up all dirt. Move the stripper from the bottom corner of the window to the top.

Once you have covered the entire window with a cleaning solution, replace the strip with a squeegee to remove suds, and any dirt and debris. Place the squeegee in the upper corner of the window and lower it into the lower frame with equal strokes. Apply equal pressure as you move the squeegee down. Clean with a microfiber cloth between wipes. Use a squeegee until you remove any residual water.

To remove excess water from frames use another dry wash. That way there will be no dirty spots on the surface.

Leave windows to dry. If in the morning you see any dirty dirty spots you can re-wash them with a rinsed washer and squeegee.

For anyone who does not have the time or physical strength or ability to do the above, a professional window cleaning company has many advantages. It is difficult to clean windows effectively and without streaks.

5 Things to Know about Commercial Construction Cleaning

It’s always a good feeling when your construction is complete, and the workers pack their bags to leave the area. Whether you are doing a little renovation, building a new home, or building a completely new one, you should be waiting patiently for the project to be completed in order to start using the new location. However, you will have one problem left – to do the cleaning of the construction post. The newly built site will still be in turmoil, and you will have to clean things up. This can be a very difficult process, especially if you have never done it before. This is a great reason why we came up with 5 great things you should know about cleaning up post-construction.

Things to Do Before Cleaning After Construction

The first thing you need to do before starting cleaning after construction is to contain the dust around the construction site. Although this is a difficult task because dust can spread everywhere, you should consider putting in place some preventive measures. Doing so will not only save you energy and time but also protect you and your family from toxins and carcinogens.

Another important thing you need to do is protect your furniture and upholstery from dust. It would be a waste of resources to clean furniture that could easily be moved to another room. The last thing you should do is equip yourself with decent tools and equipment. Get a quality vacuum cleaner, mop, and vacuum cleaner or soap.

Surface Areas that need the most Cleaning Attention

The built-up dirt can have serious health consequences for those exposed to it. That’s why you need to clean the whole area with the materials featured on the construction site. Consider cleaning all soft fabrics in your home, including sofas, curtains, and carpets, to ensure that you gather as much dust as possible. Cleaning goes a long way in preventing annoying dust from getting into your furniture. You should also consider cleaning all hard surfaces in your home. Start by wiping the dust off the walls and washing them thoroughly. Clean cabinets and sturdy wooden furniture, and finish by scrubbing the floor.

Don't forget the Small Stuff

While cleaning, make sure you do not forget the small things in your house that need to be cleaned again. Lighting, electrical appliances, mirrors, decorative items, and small electrical items are things most people often forget. These things can add dust to your building project, making your home look dirty. Doors, light switches, window blinds, screens, and frames are some of the areas you should remove dust after construction.

However, we recommend that you allow professional cleaners to handle your cleaning of construction posts.

Practical Chandelier Decorating Tips

We want to give you a step-by-step guide, from purchase to installation.

Here are some essential tips for decorating with a chandelier, and some new, “I never thought of that!” pieces of advice along the way:

Clean Crystal Chandeliers

Online Research for Chandeliers

When it comes to choosing a chandelier, it is important to cast your net wide. There are almost unlimited lighting options out there these days, but you can start by thinking about the design of the room where you intend to hang the chandelier. Is it a traditional place? One marked with Mid-century accents. Does it have the beauty of a farmhouse? This can help you determine the feel of a chandelier that will blend seamlessly with your style.

You can start by reading articles about popular lighting fixtures available, or you can head over to a few more widely illuminated lighting websites. Lighting Direct is a favorite for interior designers, while Wayfair lets you shop with your favorite jewelry style.

You can also check out your local retailers. Hardware stores can be amazing places to choose chic chandeliers. And to think outside the box, look at the flea markets, retail stores and yard sales — these are your best bet to find unique antique chandeliers. If they have strings that appear old or unreliable, go to a trusted lighting store to refresh the piece with safe, current cords — and make sure they install UL-certified cords, especially if the chandelier is installed on a new home.

You do not need to buy Crystal Chandelier

Yes, crystal chandeliers are great, but you don’t have to go with this oh-so-traditional option. If you are new to the world of buying chandeliers, go beyond the crystal details. For a stunning, yet non-crystal, look, go with colored glass, glittering metal or glass, blister-like bulbs, which are often seen on Sputnik chandeliers. If you are one of the naturalists, chandeliers now come with strings, sea shells, reclaimed wood, paper, and beads. For a minimalist look, look for mindless chandeliers with minimal, subtle details, such as matte metal finish or geometric designs.

Choose the Chandelier For the Right Room Size

If you place a very large chandelier in your space, it may look overwhelming. Very small and it may disappear into the background. It is one of those design elements where the scale is important.

There are a few schools of thought about measuring chandeliers, but experts often agree that there is a mathematical formula that can help you find your chandelier of the right size. We took the liberty to help you out with that HERE.

The chandelier should feel like a stylish addition to that particular room. Anything other than crystal candles may look completely absent in the halls of Versailles, for example.

If you are looking for a chandelier, consider the hues and materials in the room. Are warm wood or black wood common? Do you rely on bright colors, or do you prefer a neutral palette? Do you mix the instruments, or is there only one metal in the room? These are the things to consider when looking for wooden chandeliers, beads, crystals or metal.

Although chandeliers look good in traditional places — in dining rooms, on the porch, in the basic bedrooms — they are unique and surprising when hanging in a non-traditional setting.

Can your laundry room use the enhancement of style and comfort? Do you have a powder room that needs eye-catching decoration? Maybe your kitchen needs more light, and a chandelier can do the trick. Even children’s rooms are increasingly displaying playful light bulbs. Push the borders where you hang your chandeliers.
